2011 ~ Looking Back & Blog Highlights

undefinedSo just a little note to start ~ yep this is a long post. But would you believe I still haven't managed to blog absolutely everything I shot in 2011, and as I didn't want this to be about new work, it is simply a selection of my favourite already blogged images. I know this post is a little late, but there are also a few things I would like to say, especially about my wonderful husband, but I've saved them until the end of the post; hopefully you get that far!

I decided to mix the images/weddings up, so these are in no particular order!

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedYes this is my wonderful, baby faced husband above. I really have to start by saying the biggest thank you possible to Samuel. I say thank you to Samuel everyday for keeping everything together, both in our lives and in our business, but I really wanted to say it here on my blog. Mainly because although Samuel isn't a photographer, he is a huge part of "Dominique Bader Photography" and without him the business just simply wouldn't be. Samuel assists at all my weddings, but the work he does is so much more than that; he works behind the scenes in so many different areas of the business, all the while supporting, encouraging, cuddling me and ensuring I don't take on more work than I can handle!

He has sacrificed hours upon hours, weekends, taken over housework so that I can work, and sacrificed his own hobbies/interests to nurture this business and help it to develop. He is completely and utterly selfless in every way, to the extent that he has made my dreams his own, and that is probably the most wonderful thing anyone has ever done for me. Thank you isn't really enough. This year we will celebrate 7 years together and I thank my lucky stars everyday to have him in my life. An equally big thank you to my Mum and Dad; I can safely say that I owe a huge amount to them. I couldn't have asked for better parents; their love, support and guidance has been so important in developing my business. Anyone who runs their own business knows it's a true challenge (albeit very rewarding), and I couldn't have done it without them.

A big thank you to all my 2011 couples who gave me the honour of capturing the most important day of their lives. I have made so many friends along the way; clients and wedding industry people, all of whom have continued to instill the passion I have for photography. I really couldn't imagine doing anything else, and it really is the most wonderful job in the world. A job which wouldn't be possible without all of my lovely clients, so thank you. Thanks to all the bloggers and magazine editors for featuring my work, it really is a great privilege!

Another big thank you to all my 2012 couples who have booked me for this year. I can't wait to get to know you all better and to see you get married!

Samuel and I have a year full of amazing weddings to look forward to; I will be shooting all over the country, as well as a few weddings abroad too. I'm even photographing another elopement! 2012 is promising to be a great year already.

I have made some very good photographer friends since venturing into this wonderful industry. They offer continual support and encouragement and I am ever grateful for the regular chats, about anything and everything, both photography related and otherwise. You know who you are.

Thank you to everyone who leaves comments and reads the blog; you make it all worthwhile.

Lots of love, Dominique xxx
