Makeup was done by Mel Kinsman. She did a great job and Carly looked stunning.Flava is Simon's band; I thought it was really lovely that Carly got ready in their vest!St. Etheldreda's Church is stunning! We took a few quick shots in the library at Conway Hall. This one is my favourite.Carly and Simon had a theatre/literature/Shakespeare theme to their day. It worked perfectly. Carly and Simon organised a surprise performance of a part of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream". The actors were dressed as janitors so they wouldn't give the game away!Carly and Simon also went up on stage to perform some lines.Simon performed a song he had written for Carly. It was the same song he sang to Carly when he asked her to marry him. This wedding had such an amazing atmosphere and was wonderful to photograph. Carly and Simon really thought about how to make their day a true reflection of their personalities and interests, and they executed their ideas with real flair. It was clear to see just how much their guests enjoyed Carly and Simon's wedding day, and I think this really was down to the abundance of personal touches.
This was my first wedding back after having Ava and it really was a wonderful welcome back to weddings. Carly and Simon were a joy to photograph; happy, relaxed, and in love. The perfect combination. I had a great time during their portrait session and I love the photos we captured on the little streets outside Conway Hall. A big thank you to Carly and Simon for being so easy to work with and for the wonderful meal. I'm still dreaming about that pudding! xx
