Xavi & Alan's story | A Clifftop Wedding in Scotland

This is quite a personal one. Myself and my family were also guests at Xavi & Alan's wedding. You may just spot my little Ava in this post! I've known Xavi and her family since I was born. In fact, Xavi used to babysit me and Xavi's Mum Margy has always been a great support to me; she did a reading at my wedding and helped me out a lot when I was pregnant, as well as when Ava was first born (Margy was a midwife). So it was incredibly special to share this day with them. Xavi & Alan have two gorgeous children and this day was just as much about them as it was about Xavi & Alan. I love the way their son is covering his eyes when they go in for the first kiss!

This was a true homegrown wedding; the flowers were all grown in Alan's grandparents' garden (now his parents' garden), they were then arranged by Xavi along with her family and friends (that's Alan's Dad picking flowers in the garden!). Loved ones helped put up the decorations, make canapes and decorate. The drinks reception took place in the garden of Alan's grandparents' house; a place where they all spent many holidays. I think this made the wedding truly unique and extra special. Not to mention the incredible cliff top setting for the ceremony; a place truly dear to the Hughes Harrold clan. Photographing weddings with so many emotional, personal and unique elements is truly rewarding. I loved that Xavi & Alan threw convention to the wind and wore clothes that were quite simply "them"; they both looked fantastic. I hope you enjoy the images; this wedding was wonderful in every way.
