Jack's Story

I was devastated to hear the news that Jack Alexander Jensen passed away yesterday. In his memory, I would like to share just a small snippet of his life and story through the images I captured at Great Ormond Street hospital, just weeks ago. I first met Mariam when we worked together at various weddings (Mariam is a wonderful makeup artist), and to have been able to capture these photos for her and her family, is one of the most important things I’ve done.

I spent the day capturing Jack with his family and I am so happy I had the chance to meet him. Jack was such a happy, gorgeous little boy, and he was so deeply loved. Jack was born very prematurely and spent nearly all of his life in hospital. His wonderful family surrounded him with love and support, every day of his life. I can’t find the words that would even come close to expressing what the Jensen family and their loved ones have been through, so I’m not going to try. I hope these photos can provide some insight into the love and strength within this family. Whilst Jack’s life was only 19 months long, it was meaningful and significant, and he was and always will be loved by everyone who knew him.

Rest in peace beautiful boy.

From his Mummy ~ "In lieu of flowers we are asking our friends and family from around the world to make donations to the hospitals where Jack lived for most of his life. The medical teams, support staff, and various workers have all been there for Jack and our family during this journey, and we would love to give them something back in Jack's name. The NHS has been a blessing to our family and we are so grateful for all the medical care provided to our son”
