Stefanie & Alex's Story | A Winter Elopement in London

I shot my first London elopement over 6 years ago, and ever since then, I've been lucky enough to photograph elopements every year. They are magical to document; intimate, personal, and romantic.

Stefanie & Alex may have had a bitterly cold day for their wedding, but the light was glorious. It was hazy and golden, soft and and mystical. The perfect backdrop for the day. Stefanie & Alex wanted to incorporate parts of London into their images, but not "touristy" or "typical" backdrops, so we decided on Hampstead and the Pergola Hill & Gardens. Both some of my favourite spots in London. It's always a privilege to document a couple's elopement; the only ones to witness their marriage and their first moments as husband & wife. Samuel and I were also asked to be their witnesses which is even more of a privilege. I am so grateful to Stefanie & Alex for asking me to be there on their wedding day and I am thrilled they love their photographs..."The images are beautiful and exactly what we had hoped to capture on our wedding day. We can't thank you enough for photographing and being a part of our special day...."

Hair and makeup were by the ever talented Kirsty McCall and she did an amazing job as always!

I am currently working on my favourite images of 2016 which will be coming to the blog soon. I am also looking forward to capturing my second wedding of 2017 on Saturday before a bit of time off to recuperate! xx

Ashleigh & Michael's Story | A London Elopement

I shot my first Elopement over five years ago and since then I have photographed quite a few. Every time I do, I simply love it. I would photograph an elopement every week if I could! It's an honour to be the only guests and to also be the official witnesses (thank you to my husband for helping and being co-witness!).

Ashleigh & Michael's elopement was held on Christmas Eve, and typically I wouldn't work around Christmas. However, Ashleigh's enquiry was so personal and inspiring that I just couldn't resist, and I'm so pleased that I did as their day was truly wonderful. It started at the incredible Rosewood Hotel (my first time here) where Ashleigh & Michael were getting ready, followed by portraits on the streets of London, then onto their ceremony at Chelsea Town Hall (where we indulged in hilarious conversation with the driver about our mutual love of Only Fools and Horses), and then finally on to Hampstead Heath for more relaxed portraits.

Although it rained most of the day, Ashleigh put on those gorgeous black wellies and they both simply embraced it! Just as we arrived at the heath the sun appeared, as if by magic. I was so pleased for them! A rainy Christmas Eve left us feeling like the only ones on the heath; it was perfect for wintry portraits.

I am so happy I was able to be a part of this wedding; it was special being the only ones who knew they were getting married! Ashleigh & Michael, thank you so much; I'm so pleased you love the photos and wish you a lifetime of happiness! xx
