Where should I start?! I can't accurately describe in words just how beautiful Vikki and Scott's wedding was, so I hope the photos do most of the talking! Vikki and Scott held their wedding in the grounds of a beautiful house in Cornwall overlooking the sea. It was just stunning. When I arrived the day before I found Vikki and her family hard at work setting up the marquee. You could tell straight away that they had put their heart and souls into making the wedding as special as they could, and boy did they do an amazing job.
Vikki and Scott's wedding was a true reflection of their personalities and their family. It was full of love, fun and beautiful details lovingly made by Vikki, their families and her bridesmaids. Vikki's bridesmaids arranged all the flowers and I couldn't believe how unique and beautiful they were. The bouquets had the most gorgeous peonies and I just LOVE peonies. There was a nautical theme running through the wedding which you can see in the photos below. I just loved the little bottles on the table plan and the illustrations on the little table details. Just amazing! The coloured honeycomb balls hanging from the ceiling really brought the marquee to life.
Vikki and Scott both got ready at the same house. But this was no ordinary house; it had 14 bedrooms! So they were able to get ready in the same place without running into each other!
Vikki's dress was Beauty by Caroline Castigliano and it was perfect for her. And the floral headdress, well that was something else!
I have to say a huge thank you to Vikki and Scott for inviting me to capture their wedding day. It was an incredible day and we had such an amazing time. Thank you for the delicious meal and for sitting us with your lovely guests! I'm absolutely thrilled that you love your photos! xx
Vikki did her own makeup and she looked gorgeous! The wallpaper in the bedroom was just lovely and I really wanted to incorporate it into the photos as I know Vikki loved it too. The great thing about the guys getting ready in the same location is that I can grab some shots of them too!Vikki's bouquet was one of the most beautiful I have come across; how incredible are those colours?!This is definitely a favourite from the day. I love Vikki's serene expression and her bridesmaids looking on and chatting!I think I gasped when I saw Vikki's incredible floral headdress! This little church was so intimate and lovely. It's attached to the house where the wedding took place, which was very handy. It's no longer in use and as a result has no electricity, and therefore, no light! The photos are quite deceptive but it was very dark indeed. I pushed my Nikon D700 and fast prime lenses for the ceremony and they didn't let me down! The wedding took place on one site, so after the ceremony all the guests followed behind Vikki and Scott to get to the marquee.I know I've gone overboard with the details shots but there were just so many!Everyone received a little flower pot as their favour.Vikki and Scott had made these little albums that they placed on the tables; they were full of lots of good stuff such as photos and quizzes. They had painted all the table names and they looked so lovely! It's nice to see my engagement photos making it into the wedding! The table plan was all hand made and the amount of detail was incredible. All the names had a little bottle to go with the nautical theme and they hung buoys around the entrance of the marquee. Unfortunately it rained during the drinks reception but it in no way dampened anyone's spirits; as you can see everyone had a fantastic time! We decided to do a few quick portraits with the umbrellas before heading back inside. I decided that if the weather was in our favour that I would take them out later in the evening. Luckily for us the rain dried up and Samuel drove us all 30 seconds down a narrow lane and then up a steep field, so that we could get some beautiful photos in the fields, overlooking the sea. I'm so glad we did.
So the weather dried up after dinner and we headed to the top of the hill. How amazing is that view?!I suggested doing portraits in the middle of this crop and I'm so glad Vikki and Scott were game! One of Vikki's bridesmaids had painted the most amazingly life like portraits of Vikki and Scott. They were a real hoot with the guests. I love this shot of Vikki's Mum and Dad.The speeches were simply excellent. I was laughing so hard I was in tears!Vikki and Scott organised a ceilidh dance to get the evening going, it was a fantastic idea.
What a wedding! Feel free to leave some love for Vikki and Scott! Have a great weekend everyone; I'm off to shoot a wedding in Reading! Another big thank you to Vikki and Scott for inviting me to capture their beautiful wedding. xx
