It was seriously hard to cut this one down…so many smiling faces everywhere, so much happiness, so much emotion. The perfect combination for a wonderful wedding! This was my second time shooting at The George in Rye and it’s just as magical as I remembered. It actually lends itself beautifully to winter weddings. The perfect combination of understated elegance and cosiness, and the warmth of the venue really comes through in the winter months. I loved all the candles and warm lighting. Tanya & James held their wedding on New Year’s Eve and what a way to bring in the new year! They were beaming the whole day, clearly enjoying every minute of their day and that really is the secret to amazing wedding photos. If you’re in the moment, savouring it, forgetting about the camera, then the rest will just take care of itself. Tanya kept her dress a secret from until the last minute and I just loved the reaction of her bridesmaids. They were completely overwhelmed and it was a lovely moment to document. The beautiful flowers were by Rachel Grimes and hair was by Kate Beaumont. It truly was a magical day and I feel lucky to work with couples like Tanya & James.
