Two Days, Two Traditions: An Unforgettable Summer Wedding Weekend at Cornwell Manor combining Indian & Western Celebrations with Kerry Poulter Weddings
There is something incredibly special about a wedding that gives you not just one day to celebrate, but an entire weekend to bring together the people you love the most and the traditions that represent you as a couple.
For this beautiful two-day celebration at Cornwell Manor, Hanna & Josh embraced exactly that. One day was dedicated to a vibrant Indian wedding celebration, followed by their timeless and elegant garden wedding on the second day. The result was a wedding weekend filled with colour, culture, emotion and a beautiful variety of settings — all within the grounds of Cornwell Manor; one of the Cotswolds' most beautiful wedding venues. Hanna & Josh's Corwell Manor Wedding was planned to perfection by Kerry Poulter Weddings & Events
Two days, two completely different experiences
One of the greatest advantages of hosting a two-day wedding at Cornwell Manor is the sheer variety the venue offers.
Rather than having to create an entirely different atmosphere through styling alone, you can move your celebrations around the estate and allow the setting itself to transform the experience.
Cornwell Manor sits within a 2,000-acre estate near Chipping Norton, with the Georgian manor, gardens, water features, parkland and surrounding Cotswold countryside providing an abundance of possibilities for both celebrations and wedding photography. The gardens themselves offer several licensed ceremony locations, including the fountain, orchard, terraces and secret garden. This allows for multi day celebrations where each day feels unique and personal.
For Hanna & Josh's wedding at Cornwell Manor; the first day made use of the orchard, creating a beautiful setting for the Indian celebrations. The second day moved to the fountain for the ceremony, before guests enjoyed the grounds and later gathered beneath the marquee for dinner. The result was variety without ever losing the feeling of being part of one wonderfully personal wedding weekend.
Day One: An Indian wedding celebration in the orchard
From the intricate details and beautiful outfits to the laughter, embraces and celebrations between family and friends, there was so much to photograph.
As a wedding photographer, I love celebrations where the photographs aren't simply about documenting what happened, but about capturing the atmosphere of the day — the movement, the emotion, the small interactions and the people behind the celebration.
An Indian wedding also provides so many opportunities for storytelling through photography: colourful details, beautiful textures, family traditions, moments of anticipation and the incredible energy that builds as everyone comes together.
And having the orchard as the setting for this first chapter made the images feel completely different from those created on the second day.
Day Two: A Personal Garden Ceremony
Hanna looked stunning in her Suzanne Neville dress; so timeless and beautiful!
A ceremony by the fountain
For the second day, Hanna & Josh held the ceremony in the sunken garden by the fountain.
With the manor providing a lovely backdrop, the ceremony was led by a close friend, making it intimate, personal and funny. One of the aspects I love most about shooting weddings at Cornwell Manor, is how naturally the day can flow from one part of the estate to another.
Dinner in the marquee
Once the drinks reception and delicious cake table was devoured, guests moved over to the marquee. The venue provides a dedicated marquee space, with the park offering views towards the house and lakes, while the grounds give couples the flexibility to create a reception that feels completely their own.
Cornwell Manor is a perfect setting for a multi-day wedding. You don't have to make one space work for everything. You can allow each celebration to have its own personality, reflecting you as a couple and giving your guests different experiences across the celebration.
