Timeless, Heartfelt & Natural Family Photography

Across Hertfordshire & The UK

Family photography is a true passion of mine. I love catching up with my couples long after their wedding to document their continuing story and the new generations of their family. Just like my approach to wedding photography, my family sessions are a mixture of documentary and fine art portraiture. I love to capture natural and heartfelt moments, alongside beautiful and timeless portraits. So, if you're considering a family shoot in Berkhamsted, St. Albans, Hemel Hempstead, or London do get in touch. Even if I didn't shoot your wedding, I would love to hear from you!

"Thank you so much Dominique, we love them so much! Such beautiful images and memories to treasure always!! We’re so happy and lucky to have you...thanks to you we have the most wonderful photographs of the loveliest moments of our lives from engagement to wedding to baby"

Natural family portrait with parents and siblings

I will never forget the beginning of my journey to motherhood, and how it changed my life. It opened my eyes, gave me purpose, and a deeper connection to my loved ones. This transformation fuels my passion as a natural family photographer.

I love to capture this experience in my family portrait sessions, because I believe your images should bring you back to how it felt to become a parent, to that unconditional love you have for your child or children, and to the emotional journey that is parenthood. I hope your images will become an heirloom for your children to pour over as they grow; to show their own children one day, reminding future generations of your family that your story was also the beginning of theirs.

At Home Newborn Photography and Family Portraits

Over the years, I have come to realise that I take some of my favourite images when I'm shooting in your home. When it's simply about beautiful window light and the connection between your loved ones. I find the home lends itself to more authentic and genuine images of a family and in turn, they have more sentimental value to my families. So whether you're looking for maternity, newborn or family portrait photography, this intimate setting allows me to combine both documentary and fine art portraiture, which allows for a varied and beautiful set of photos.

Your Family Portraits Session

Family portrait of two siblings running while holding hands

Every family portrait session lasts around two hours, ensuring we have ample time to capture a varied collection of photos. Once our session concludes, you will receive a USB of your high-resolution images, allowing you to print and relive those memories. An online gallery will also be provided, making it easy to share your captured moments with loved ones. Whilst I'm based in the Hertfordshire countryside, just outside of London, I offer family photography throughout the UK and abroad.

"Thank you so much for the pictures, they are magical. I am always in awe of how you manage to capture such beautiful and natural images. With the kids being a bit difficult I was not expecting the pictures to be as fantastic as they are; many thanks for your patience!"

FAQ

How soon should you get newborn photos?

Newborn shoots are best done in the first two weeks if you really want to capture that brand-new squishiness, as well as all the incredible expressions they make! But it doesn't really matter when you do the shoot; every stage is wonderful to document. I am certain you won't have any regrets. They grow up so fast (I know only too well) and I can only imagine how wonderful it will be to look back at these photos when they've grown, or even embarrass them on their wedding day!

What is the best setting for family photos?

Family sessions can take place either in your home, garden or on location. Together we can discuss what would be the best location, taking into consideration your desired setting and the ages of your child/children.

What is the difference between portrait and family photography?

My sessions combine both natural moments of you together as well as timeless portraits. I will provide gentle direction during your portraits, whilst ensuring these never appear staged or overly posed. This ensures you are left with timeless and heartfelt photos that you will treasure for years to come.
