Amy & Ciaran

A Relaxed & Contemporary Jewish Wedding

with an Outdoor Garden Ceremony at Sopwell House

As a Hertfordshire wedding photographer, I have the privilege of capturing many beautiful weddings, but there’s something uniquely vibrant about Jewish weddings that I absolutely adore. From the profound symbolism of smashing the glass during the ceremony to the exhilarating energy of lifting the bride and groom on chairs during the reception, these celebrations blend deep-rooted traditions with high-energy fun.

Sopwell House in St Albans, an enchanting countryside venue, was the perfect backdrop for such a spirited and romantic occasion. This 18th-century manor house, nestled in the serene Hertfordshire countryside, exudes a charm and elegance that only enhanced the joy and excitement of Amy and Ciaran's wedding.

The ceremony was held under a beautiful chuppah in the gardens, adorned with trailing foliage and flowers, creating a magical and intimate space for the couple to exchange their vows. The chuppah, a central element in Jewish weddings, symbolized the couple’s new home, enveloped by the natural beauty of Sopwell House’s grounds.

Capturing the essence of this special day was a joy. Witnessing the couple’s happiness, the lively traditions, and the romance in the air, was a reminder of the beauty and diversity of weddings. The energy of the day, from the poignant ceremony to the exuberant evening reception, was palpable and a delight to photograph.
