"Dominique, these photos are just gorgeous! Thank you so much. I feel so lucky to have them and I’m sure we’ll treasure them. We need to fill our walls with photos and now I feel overwhelmed with choice! The photos you got of Eliana in particular are exceptional. I’m not sure how you managed it because she always stops me from taking pictures of her! Thank you so much."

Family sessions are a true passion of mine; one I have decided I want to make more time for in my business. I want to expand this side of my work as much as possible and it's sessions like these which remind me of why that is. I have honed my approach to family sessions over the years, and whilst once I would have shied away from being indoors for a shoot, I have come to realise that I take my favourite images when I'm shooting inside. When it's simply about beautiful window light and the connection between my subjects. I actually find the home lends itself to more authentic and genuine images of a family and in turn they will have more sentimental value to my families. This type of setting allows me to combine both documentary and portraiture, the way I do with weddings. I believe this allows for a more diverse and well rounded compilation of images. For example, I love how I was able to capture the series of Eliana having hurt her elbow on the slide and Mummy & Daddy comforting her, or the way she enjoyed her mango lolly! It's shots like these that capture childhood and parenthood and will be wonderful to look back on in years to come.
This session was pretty local to me but I am happy to photograph families anywhere. I have even been flown abroad for family sessions before now!
Jess has a wonderful Instagram account and Blog; Jess documents her life as a Mother and a professional model. Her photos are beautiful and her posts are wonderful to read. I'm not quite sure how she manages to look so effortlessly beautiful having just had a baby...what a gorgeous family. I had a wonderful time doing this session. Jess sent me the following message upon receiving her images; Dominique, these photos are just gorgeous! Thank you so much. I feel so lucky to have them and I’m sure we’ll treasure them. We need to fill our walls with photos and now I feel overwhelmed with choice! The photos you got of Eliana in particular are exceptional.
