I shot Hannah & Ben's wedding nearly 4 years ago. There they are, happy as ever above! I was over the moon when Hannah got in touch for a family session at their home in York. Their second boy, Wilf, had just arrived and they were keen to have some photos soon after he was born. Newborn shoots are best done in the first two weeks if you really want to capture that brand new squishiness, as well as all the incredible expressions they make! But it doesn't really matter when you do the shoot; every stage is wonderful to document. 

My approach to family sessions is a mixture of documentary and portrait - although nothing overly staged and with your baby cuddled in your arms; after all, as any parent knows, this is where a newborn is truly content and relaxed!

I find it incredibly rewarding when I meet up with my couples long after their wedding and am given the opportunity to document their continuing story and the new generations that have joined the family. If you're considering having a family shoot, do get in touch. I am certain you won't have any regrets. They grow up so fast (I know only too well) and I can only imagine how wonderful it will be to look back at these photos when they've grown, or even embarrass them on their wedding day!
